Frequently asked
questions
|
|
|
|
Why are you asking for people to pay to see the entire
site?
There is no other source of revenue for this site. There
are no annoying banner ads popping up, which is what pays for
most sites. I have to pay to maintain this site on the web,
and this site is supported entirely by the viewers.
|
|
What happens to the money I pay to see the site?
The money goes back into the upkeep on the site. Also, $2
of each payment goes to charitable organizations that I have
chosen. In these tough times, we should help out as much as we
can, so the charities I'm going with are:
Modest
Needs.org and Meals
on Wheels Both of these organizations help those who can't
or are unable to help themselves.

|
I've paid through PayPal, where are my passwords?
The username and password will be sent to you from access@learn-to-draw.com.
It may take up to 24 hours for you to get this email.
|
|
I still can't access the site with the given password.
The passwords are case sensitive, make sure your caps lock
button is off. Also, a few AOL users have said that they cannot
access the site. Email
me if this happens.
|
|
Can I get a refund of my money?
I'm sorry, no. I am keeping the price as low as I can so you
aren't loosing very much money. This site is about the cost of a
delivered pizza. I figured that to learn some drawing skills,
people might pay that.
|
|
I've looked at all your pages and I still can't draw.
I've taught you to the best of my ability within the
limitations of the web. If you think you can't draw after
looking at this site, maybe you could take some art classes at
your local community college. Or find some how-to-draw books, or
other websites.
|
|
Why are some pages password protected, is there
objectionable material on those pages?
Absolutely not. The material that's contained in the members area of
this site is the same type of material in the free area. In the
members area, there's more information that builds on the
instruction given in the free areas.
|
|
When will my username and password expire?
Never. They are good for as long as this site is active. Don't
loose your username and password because I don't keep them.
|
|
Do you keep my email address?
I keep it for a month after you pay, in case you loose
the information I can give it to you. After a month, I delete
all the emails I have for that month, so I won't be able to
remind you of your password after that.
|
|
Will you sell my email address to solicitors?
Absolutely not. The whole reason I don't have banner ads on this
site is so solicitors won't bother you as you learn. I'm not
about to give your email address to someone who will try and
sell you something.
|
|
Do you teach art to individual students?
No, I don't have a teaching degree, so I don't teach other than
on the web.
|
|
Can you show me what I'm doing wrong in this drawing?
If you scan the drawing and email
it to me, and tell me what you don't like about it, I
will critique the drawing and email you and offer suggestions on how to
improve your skills.
|
|
I've been looking at your site for a week and I still can't
draw well.
Learning drawing will take time. You can't expect to be Leonardo
Da Vinci after a week of learning to draw. Practice, practice,
practice.
|
|
Why can't people sue you for making fun of them in a
caricature?
The law says that "parody" is legal. That means that
you can draw funny pictures of people, and famous people, all you
want. But there is a line that can be crossed called
"slander". You could sell a drawing you've done of a
famous person without violating copyright laws because it's your
drawing. If you try and sell the copyrighted photograph you used
as a reference for your drawing, that's when you could have
legal action taken against you.
